Why these rates? Therapy can look expensive at first, so I want to be open about what goes into my rates. What you pay for a session covers more than just the time we spend together. It also includes everything needed to make sure your care is safe, private, and consistent. Running a therapy practice comes with a lot of behind-the-scenes costs—like a secure electronic health record system, a HIPAA-compliant video platform for telehealth, credit-card processing fees, office rent, and other business tools. These are the things that allow me to offer a professional and confidential space for your therapy. My rates also reflect the work I do outside of sessions to support you well. I carry my own professional liability insurance, continue taking training and education to stay up-to-date, and participate in ongoing supervision and consultation so I can keep growing as a therapist and provide the best care I can. Finally, my fees include my advanced training and experience. I’m certified in a specialized therapy approach that required a major investment of time and thousands of dollars in training, and I’m trained in additional modalities as well. In short, your rate supports not only our session time, but the preparation, training, and professional supports that go into providing high-quality therapy.
